How does the context of the whistleblowing case - the environment and the nature of the information - influence the publishing work? How can the approach to publishing increase access to truth?
I used three different contexts of whistleblowing cases to look into those questions. What do the cases have to say about the relationship between whistleblowing and publishing? And why is leaking as publishing work a matter
of public interest?
The role of the publisher is to show truth in the contradiction of what is being
said and what is being done. Speaking truth to power. As greater power becomes concentrated in ever fewer hands, they are ever more necessary to hold the powerful accountable for their wrongdoings.
Whistleblowing as the act of making public, is a vital public service to maintain
the health of our democracy.
